Position of Durga Devi

Position of Durga Devi

Postby anuj0ue » Sun May 16, 2010 12:16 pm

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

I've a question regarding Durga Devi - upto Lord Brahma, each demigod position is held by an elevated jiva and they keep changing. Only Lord Siva is eternal demigod.

What about Durga Devi? Is "Durga" also a post to be occupied by a jiva? Is Durga Devi (or for that matter Maya Devi) also jiva tattva? If not, what is her position?

Thank you,

Hare Krsna !
I am trying to open up the discussion pending over a month now. All devatas together incarnated Durga Devi for "Daitya Sanhaar" (killing of Asuras) Each of them, Brahma, Vishnu Mahesh, Indra, Varuna, Agni, Surya, and others gave their partial powers to her.

It is not a Elavated Jiva occupying a post. It is an incarnation or rather we may say a combined result of powers of Gods.

As for Mayadevi - it is a separate entity and is Antarangi Shakti of lord Krsna. Aalhadini shakti of Lord is Radhe Rani, and Bahyarangi Shakti is Maha Maya Devi. This is from what I have heard please.
