Hare Krishna,

In Bhagavad Gita Sri Krishna had said to Arjun that everybody is going to die in mahabharat except Pandawas, why Ashwathama was not dead?
Iam not saying that Sri Krishna statements are contradictory, actually I am eager to know the reason.

I request to provide a reason why Ashwathama was not dead?

Hare Krishna,
Amit

Ashwathama has a boon that, he will not die. That's why he was not dead.

Apart from Ahswathama, there are few other people who did not die in the war. Satyaki, Sanjaya, and another half-brother of Duryodhana (He is not son of Gandhari, but son of Dhritarashtra.)

I don't know whether it is correct to use the words "all" in literal sense or not.

Satish.

Hare Krishna Amit Prabhu.

You must be referring to Bhagavad-Gita 11.32 where Krishna says, "Time I am, the great destroyer of the worlds, and I have come here to destroy all people. With the exception of you [the Pāṇḍavas], all the soldiers here on both sides will be slain." The important point here is that everything happens according to the plan of the Lord which can not be checked. That is, whether Arjuna decides to fight or not, everyone present there would be destroyed according to the plan of the Lord. So the intention of the above verse was to emphasize the infallibility of the plan of the Lord and not to give a detailed account of who will die and who will not.

As you can see that from Pandava's side, all the Pandavas along with Sātyaki (Krishna's cousin) survived the war of Mahabharat. Whereas, from Kaurava's side, Ashvathama and Kripacharya were the survivors. So it is clear that in the above verse (11.32), Krishna did not intend to give exact account of who will die and who will survive. Rather, He intended to emphasize the infallibility of His plan, that "whatever happens, My plans will not fail. So Arjuna, you better be an instrument."

I think this resolves the apparent contradiction.
