dear devotee friend
Krishna's form ,His Abode, His intimate devotees are all transcendental.
u cannot apply ur logic to understand Krishna's logic. His abode is all-compressible as well as all-expandable and acts in accordance with His wish. If we want to progress in Krishna consciousness then the only pre requisite is faith. we have to surrender unto Krishna's lotus Feet and every bit we'll be able to understand automatically.
just have faith and listen to Harikatha as if you dont know anything because we actually dont know anything.
our speculations will not lead us to any concrete conclusion.
therefore we should remember the magic line "Chant HARE KRISHNA and be happy".
thank you.

1) The battle of Kurukshetra lasted for 18 days in total.
2) Regarding how kurukshetra could accommodate 64 crore army...
Kurukshetra is a holy dhaam glorified in various scriptures. According to shastra, a holy dhaam does not have any boundary as it is none other than the expansion of the spiritual world which is unlimited. So the apparent boundaries that seem to limit a dhaam is an imperfect perception owing to our imperfect materialistic vision. In actuality, a holy dhaam is limitless, boundary less and infinite. SO it can accommodate infinite army what to speak of a meager 64 crore of army.

Further, the Supreme Lord possesses inconceivable powers. Therefore He is called omnipotent (or one who is able to do anything) Another instance is when Lord Rama appeared, He led the army of more than million trillion zillion (10^60 to be more accurate) monkeys. So by Lord's inconceivable potency, the Lord could accommodate all those monkeys in apparently small land of India. The Lord and the Lord's dhaam are mysterious. They do not come under the purview of mundane logic which is limited by time, space and our imperfect senses.
