Question: Who is the Rama in Hare Rama?
Should we think of Sri Balarama or Sri Ramachandra when we chant the second line, "Hare Rama Hare Rama; Rama Rama Hare Hare"?

Answer: Balarama, Ramachandra, Parasurama, or Krishna
One can take the Rama in Hare Rama to be either Lord Balarama, Lord Ramachandra, Lord Parasurama, or even Lord Krishna Himself, since He is the Supreme Enjoyer and can thus also be correctly addressed as Rama.
