How important is preaching

Q. How important is preaching ?

A. Preaching is more important than managing. Just because you are preaching nicely and distributing so much Prasadam, the management will follow like a shadow and Krishna will send you no end of help.

Hare krishna!
All glories to Srila prahupada!
In all our Krishna conscious activities preaching is the essence! In 18th chapter krishna declares that (na ca tasman manushyeshu kasshcimne priya krittamah) one who is preaching the message of Bhagavad- gita is the most dear to me which is the sum & substance of devotional life(to please Krishna more & more).

Books are the basis,
Preaching is the essence,
Utility is the principle and
Purity is the force.

This was a well-known sutra that was chanted all over ISKCON in the 70s, when book distribution was booming and ISKCON was expanding like anything.

Please read a very interesting post on this by Hari Sauri Dasa at http://www.lotusimprints.com/new/blog/? ... &x=10&y=10

Hello vgopikrishna

Please accept my respectful obeisance

Thank you for this.

The Lord Jesus told his devotees- “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.”
When the Lord Jesus had finished talking with them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand. And the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord worked through them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs.

This was a well-known sutra that was chanted all over ISKCON in the 70s, when book distribution was booming and ISKCON was expanding like anything.

One way to share the scriptures is by preaching and the preaching needs to include public preaching. Sure you can sell or give a book but the voice of the proclaimer has power when the Lord is in them. A power which is sometimes hidden in the ink and paper.

The apostle said "faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God"

I also agree with gauranga The Lord uses good preaching not good management. Sometimes--No always, the Lord moves best when He is unmanaged by us material beings.

peace to the devotees, Yeshudas
